ABSTRACT
The tittle of this research is “The influence of Mime Story on Students’ Reading Ability”. There are two reasons why the writer wants to investigate.
1. The writer wants to find out how far the effectiveness of mime story technique passage influences the students’ reading comprehension of a reading text.
2. The writer wants to find out how far the teaching reading to the seventh grade students (VII A) of SMP Negeri 2 Cisitu Sumedang in the year 2008 using mime story technique influences the students’ achievement
In this research the writer uses the class action research method to get result. The instrument that used to gather the data is an achievement test.
Based on the observation result and the reflection done by the observer, the writer conclude that the mime story technique is suitable technique to use in teaching and learning process, because:
1. It can improve the students’ motivation
2. The teaching and learning process lasts in a joyful condition
3. It makes the students comprehend the text more easily
5. It can improve the students achievement.
